photoblog image San Francisco Streets

San Francisco Streets

I have not been posting.

Seems like all I do is get up, go to work, work, leave work, go home... you get the picture.

I suppose I could be motivated to do some night photography.

Until then I have decided to slide (side step) into straight "street" photography with my phone camera.

The idea is to try an get spontanious shots of the San Francisco streets (to and from work).

Ok this shot is not so spontanious (in the least). I asked them to pose.

These "Sisters" are memebers of the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence.

"The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence® is a leading-edge Order of queer nuns. Since our first appearance in San Francisco on Easter Sunday, 1979, the Sisters have devoted ourselves to community service, ministry and outreach to those on the edges, and to promoting human rights, respect for diversity and spiritual enlightenment. We believe all people have a right to express their unique joy and beauty and we use humor and irreverent wit to expose the forces of bigotry, complacency and guilt that chain the human spirit."

To and from work can open the eyes for the way you are travelling. I once did such a series and discovered things I never saw before, even if they were there every day.

An Order of Queer Nuns. My jaw dropped smile I then looked up the 'Order' on the net link. There are thumbnail pictures, but I couldn't recognise these 2. The one with beard could be MaryJ High. And they are also US-wide and international. Funny and eye opening.
John Eagle: It's a nice change - to look around for once instead of rushing here and there.

They are quite a unique bunch - even here in San Francisco. I looked as well and couldn't identify them. maybe they are new-bees.
