U.S. Civil War Reenactment

August 21st, Civil War Living History Day, Fort Point, San Francisco, CA.

Fort Point sits at the base of the Golden Gate Bridge. This fort was completed just before the American Civil War, to defend San Francisco Bay against hostile (Confederate) warships. The fort never saw action during the Civil War.

I love the crop, John. Those Civil War reenactments sure have a following, don't they.
John Eagle: Thanks, They certainly do have die-hard fans. Ask these guys/gals a question and you are sure to find yourself in for tea and a sit. smile

They didn't see action? There were no girls in SF at the time?
John Eagle: Ha ha, smile

Actually San Francisco was named the Barbary Coast (not to be confused with the North Africa Barbary Coast).

Barbary Coast was a red-light district in old San Francisco during the Gold Rush. It was known for gambling, prostitution and crime.
A fine portrait John, well seen.
John Eagle: Thank You.
A striking portrait my friend
John Eagle: Thank you.
