Guadalajara

Los Arcos de Guadalajara

Los Arcos is on Avendia Vallarta, not far from the Minerva statue. This 14 meter double arch was built in 1942 by architect Aurelio Aceves to commemorate the city's 400th anniversary.  Reminiscent of European arches, this one contains the coat of arms and welcoming words for visitors (thanks Wikipedia). Originally built at the border of Guadalajara it is now far from the entrance to the city. The city has since grown around and beyond the arch.

Great for night time shooting. The Arch is lite up with changing colored lights White, Blue, Red, Magenta...

The one I looked at before was a red and this a magenta, so I can't compare the upload (by memory smile). It does look sharp, so I guess you are satisfied as well.

Some great night pictures from Guadalajara
John Eagle: The colored lights on the Arch change from Red to Magenta to Blue, etc. When I arrived back home I looked at my pics and I preferred this one over the Red one. Not sure what the problem was/is with the red one it looks more like this one (saturated) on my desktop. While in Guadalajara my friend would say "you are in Mexico now" referring to all the problems I was having with color and uploading.

Thanks.
cool.
looks like some bravery was required
John Eagle: Thanks. We were crossing the street to set up and I looked up half way across the street and said to myself this is the shot. So I set up there in the median hoping for the best. My friend was shaking his head. Crazy Gringo. All turned out well.
