Guadalajara

This is Satan. He is one of two feline guardians of Panteón de Belén.

Panteón de Belén (also Santa Paula Cemetery) is a historical cemetery located in Guadalajara, Mexico. It opened in 1848 and it was formally closed in 1896.

Many ghost sightings have been recorded and many legends have surfaced and are part of the local folklore.

The cemetery actually had a very peaceful and serene feeling. The architecture and sculpture definitely transported one back to the 1800's.

Satan guarding the cemetery? No wonder people see ghosts.

An excellent picture, especially the point of view and how the cat figures in the picture.
John Eagle: Thanks, This was a quick turn of my head and hey that's a shot.

Satan (the cat) is cool. He followed us for our entire walk/tour. We went back today and he and the other cat "666" kept us company until Satan found a raton (mouse) and then he lost interest in us... for a few mintes

Hahaaha - he knows how to steal a scene!
John Eagle: yes, he was at the center of everything
wow! this is great. something about this cat in this vast place looks quite eerie. what a scene!
John Eagle: This cat (Satan) and another cat named "666" have the run of the place. I think they are very happy here. Lots of mice and rats all to themselves. The place looks eerie but is quite serene.
Hi,
your Satan and my Belzebut are going well together… no?
Regards,
Philippe
John Eagle: yes, they do. Maybe they are friends. Isn't Belzebut a prince of hell? In that case they must be very close to one another.
