Fairfax Festival

Fairfax Festival and parade, Aztec dancers.

This fellow was the lead dancer.

I thought the chewing gum was a nice touch.

I did a little research and found out that the Aztecs and Mayans actually had chewing gum.

They notice that the sap of the sapodilla tree could be chewed and quickly hardened into a chewable gum. The liquid was referred to as "chicle", and commonly used by the commoner of the Aztecs society.
