I am amazed at the length some of these fellows go to get historically accurate... down to the fabric and type of stitching. Although not so sure this fellows specs are historically accurate.

One fellow (not this guy) went as far as to get permission and go to the Smithsonian Institution in Washington D.C. and take measurements off a uniform to make a pattern for a French African-American Civil War Zouaves uniform.

The style of the glasses are OK, but the technology used is not in step. The lenses are UV protected, tinted and not of glass.

Another great picture.
John Eagle: Damn, you have a sharp eye. Yeah, I could see that the pads plates (on the nose) look to be made of plastic. Also the end pieces look too modern.

Funny how these guys grow goatees and get glasses to match the era. Wonder if he wears these glasses all the time or if they are just for the re-enactments?
