Isn't it a pity that the no brains have scrawled their names across the better street art. sad
John Eagle: Yes and no. In a way it is a tribute to the artist. An artist may tag another's work to say I approve and stand with you. It enhances the grittiness and spontaneity and gives it street cred (credibility). It is one thing to get tagged on another to get completely painted over by other graffiti artists. Sometimes it has to do with territory other times it has to do with respect. Street art is not meant to last but to evolve with its environment. Some of the pieces I have photographed have already been painted over, others have been around for years.
