Woof, Woof, Baying at the Lunar Eclipse

It has been a few weeks since I have posted and will be a few more. I am going to the Big Apple on the 1st. Lets  hope I return with some trophies!

Stayed up all night, last night to get this Lunar Eclipse. Woof, Woof, I am tried. Started shooting at 1:45 am, until 5:30 am. Will never do that again, well maybe. :) This montage shows the eclipse coming out of Total Eclipse (Umbra) to Partial Eclipse (Preumbra) to full moon. During Total Eclipse, about 90 minutes, the moon turns a nice orange color. Very peaceful.

Funny thing was the second the Moon started coming out of total eclipse, top left image, where you first see the sliver of white sunshine all the dogs and coyotes in the valley started barking.

Great way to present it. Mine are not even out of the camera yet. In Aust. the time was way more sociable 8pm.
John Eagle: Yeah, I couldn't wait to look at them.
Wonderful! Amazing presentation, too. (:o)
John Eagle: Thank you.

You observed something I have come to associate with eclipses. The canine reaction to eclipses and a good thing that you can associate it with that moment. I have observed the canine reaction even with daylight eclipses, when the moon doesn't contribute to lighting of that part of the earth.

Taking the pictures is one thing and then you have spent time doing the processing. You should get a medal for it. Excellent collage.
John Eagle: I have also observed the "canine reaction" prior to an earthquake.

One night all these dogs started barking off in the distance. The barking got closer and closer. Sure enough right behind the howling came an earthquake.
