Mazu, Chinese Goddess of the Sea

I believe this is Mazu a Chinese Goddess also known as Matsu, Ma-Tsu, A-Ma, and Mizu-Gami.

Mazu is the Taoist goddess of the Sea who protects fishermen and sailors, and is revered as the patron saint who protects East Asians who are associated with the ocean.

She is extremely popular among the Taiwanese, Fujianese, Cantonese, Teochew, and Vietnamese people, who have cultures strongly linked to the sea. The Matsu Islands are named after her.

This figure was a very tall puppet at the Chinese New year Parade in San Farncisco.

She looks like she could kick Neptune's butt.

I added a little radial blur to emphasis her bad-assness.

Actually, John, I think you managed the effect quite well!
John Eagle: Thanks, It may be a little distracting. I didn't care much for the photo originally so I was not taking it seriously. Wanted to show Mazu. Now that I see it I like all the detail and probably would back off a bit on the radial blur.
