Jardin Botanique de Montréal

My first snow fall a couple of weeks ago in Montréal. I was at the Botanical Garden trying my best to take flower shots without a tri-pod. Can you say shake, shake, shake, shake your booty... Thought I would try my luck with the creepy, crawlies and headed over to the Insectarium. I stumbled across this wise looking lion by the rose garden dusted with a layer of fresh snow. He is pondering something, not sure what. He wouldn't give it up.

Nicely captured with the snow and the tight framing is nice smile
John Eagle: Thank you. I had so wanted to get some snow while I was in Canada and finally did towards the end of my trip. The snow was a nice added touch to this portrait.
nice framing and cropping
John Eagle: Thank you. I am happy with the cropping as well. I did not like the background elements. And cropping tight helped bring out the expression as well as emphasize the snow.

He's so glistening/wet and shiny, too. It makes him look very wise. A man for all seasons! Very nice crop, indeed, John!
John Eagle: Thank you.

Really good John, the snow has added a great highlight to contrast the shadow area. He was contemplating "It's bloody cold out here" wink Lovely shot. Mal
John Eagle: Thank you. I think the snow really made this piece. The snow added to the emotion and emphasized the expression. I was also contemplating what I was doing out there in the cold.
love the effect of snow on the black...
John Eagle: Thank you.

Oh, to me the poor lion looks cheesed off with having a layer of snow on his face. A lovely picture, with great detail and contrasts between the shiny black and the soft white snow.
John Eagle: Thank you. He is pissed that he has to sit outside while everyone else is enjoying the warmth of the greenhouses near by.
