The Great Peace of Montreal of 1701

The monument to Paul de Chomedey de Maisonneuve. The work by Louis-Philippe Hébert includes several bronze figures commemorating the Ville-Marie period.

This fellow is one of he figures on the monument. He looks like an Iroquois to me.

I took this at night with the Twilight setting which gives an interesting brown hue. I played with the levels and blurred the background a little to help offset the figure.

A little history... In 1701, after nearly a hundred years of recurrent warfare, French and natives joined together in a spectacular summit to sign a treaty that would end the atrocities and guarantee peace for more than a half century. This has become known as the The Great Peace of Montreal of 1701.

I like this shot, as well as several of your other photos. I wouldn't change it a bit, good croping, good color just good solid photography.
John Eagle: Thank you.
