photoblog image Montréal City Hall

Montréal City Hall

This shot was taken around 9:30 at night a week ago on the 8th. There is a square in front of the Montreal City Hall with these Holiday decorations still up. Thought it was interesting. The decorations consisted of Christmas trees and some structures that reminded me of either Teepees (Tipi), Corn stocks drying or the stakes witches are burned at. Maybe they were just abstract sculptural pieces. Is this just a strange coincidence, is there some ironic symbolism or am I just Looney? Don't answer that.

That is a wonderfully strange night shot and not only because of the odd Christmas decorations. I like the crazy colors!
John Eagle: I was so excited when I turned the corner and came across this. Not at all what I was expecting to see on my walk and a wonderful opportunity. It worked out nicely.

If I half close my eyes it looks as if the trees are dancing!

It's a really interesting picture, made more so by your commentary
John Eagle: But they are dancing... smile

I was curious as to what prompted the shape of the structures. What I mentioned are what came to my mind.

What lovely lighting for this dance, John! The colors are fabulous!

It DOES look like those "stalks" are tied together with the red lights. I wonder if there IS a story behind this?!
John Eagle: Thanks you. I emailed them and asked. Haven't heard back yet.
very good lighting
John Eagle: Thank you.

Hey John, lovely night image. I like the fact that you have caught a little colour in the sky, any darker, I think the forground treelights may have burned out. Mal
John Eagle: Thank you. I am really happy to have gotten the blue sky. The sun had set not to long before probably why I got some color.
A really nice picture here, love colors and lights - Bravo
John Eagle: Thanks you.
